Known for London's thriving financial centre, its world-leading universities and its rich international culture, the United Kingdom offers two routes for ambitious entrepreneurs and innovators: the Isle of Man Innovator Visa and the Skilled Worker route through your own UK business. Both can lead to permanent settlement and, in time, British citizenship.
The United Kingdom is a diverse nation that has helped shape the modern world, known for multicultural cities such as London, Edinburgh and Manchester, with food, music and art drawn from Asia, Africa and Europe.
The UK lies off the northwest coast of Europe and is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Its long coastline is home to seabirds such as puffins, and minke whales, bottlenose dolphins and orcas can be spotted in its waters.
England is home to more than 80% of the UK's population. London, the capital of both England and the UK, has around nine million residents and is famous for landmarks such as Big Ben and the Tower of London, and for the theatres of the West End. Edinburgh Castle and Manchester's Northern Quarter are among the country's many other attractions.
The UK is one of the world's largest economies and a global hub for technology and innovation, with leading companies in finance, pharmaceuticals and engineering. It also has a thriving tourism industry. The currency is the Pound Sterling (GBP).
The UK is a constitutional monarchy. The monarch is head of state, while the Prime Minister, usually the leader of the largest party in Parliament, leads the government. Parliament has two chambers: the elected House of Commons and the appointed House of Lords.
Investing in a second residency can offer various benefits, including better global mobility, access to education and healthcare, retirement planning, a pathway to citizenship and a Plan B for the family.
Eligible applicants can go on to apply for permanent settlement, known as indefinite leave to remain.
A single applicant can sponsor family members as dependants, including a spouse and children.
Once settled, you can apply for British citizenship when you meet the citizenship requirements.
Every main applicant must meet the conditions below.
For experienced entrepreneurs setting up or running a business in the Isle of Man, a self-governing Crown Dependency with its own immigration rules.
For entrepreneurs who set up or expand a business in the UK, which is then approved by the Home Office as a sponsor.
We simplify the process with a clear, step-by-step approach and support around the clock. It typically takes 4 to 6 months from start to visa, and can be divided into the following stages.
The two routes are governed by separate immigration rules: the Isle of Man's own rules for the Innovator visa, and the UK Immigration Rules for the Skilled Worker route.
Two routes: the Isle of Man Innovator Visa, which needs at least GBP 50,000 in investment funds for a new business endorsed by the Isle of Man Department for Enterprise, and the Skilled Worker route, where your own UK business becomes a Home Office-approved sponsor and employs you in an eligible role.
No. The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency with its own immigration rules. An Innovator visa lets you live and run your business in the Isle of Man.
The whole process typically takes 4 to 6 months, including preparing your business proposal and getting it endorsed or approved. Once the visa application is submitted, decisions usually take up to 6 weeks for the Isle of Man and around 3 weeks for a Skilled Worker visa applied for outside the UK.
On the Isle of Man Innovator Visa, you may be able to apply for settlement after 3 years in the Isle of Man. On the Skilled Worker route, you may be able to apply for settlement in the UK after 5 years. The UK government has proposed changes to settlement rules, so your advisor will confirm the rules that apply when you apply.
For both routes, you need English at level B2 or above on the CEFR scale in reading, writing, speaking and listening, shown by an approved test or an English-taught degree. Nationals of some countries are exempt for the Skilled Worker route.
Yes. On both routes you can bring your family. On the Skilled Worker route, dependants are your partner and your children under 18.
A thirty-minute consultation with our advisory team will tell you whether United Kingdom is the right programme for you, and if it is not, which of our other programmes is.
